Abstrakt		The main principles and specific characteristics of different laser types are presented. Different laser types and their main indications in dermatology are described. Naevus flammeus remains the main and absolute indication. Lasers can be used in the treatment of many vascular and non-vascular lesions, as well as in cosmetology. The possibilities, limitations and complications of laser surgery are discussed, as well as the use of laser treatment in the general practitioners' offices. Good and effective results can be expected only when the laser and its parameters have been correctly chosen.
Izvleček		Podane so osnovne fizikalne in biološke značilnosti različnih laserjev. Opisane so vrste laserjev, ki se danes največ uporabljajo v dermatologiji, in njihove glavne indikacije. Še nadalje ostaja edina absolutna indikacija za zdravljenje nevus flammeus, relativne indikacije pa so številne vaskularne in nevaskularne kožne spremembe, pa tudi kozmetske motnje. Opisani so tudi mogoči zapleti in omejitve zdravljenja ter možnosti uporabe laserjev v ambulanti zdravnika družinske medicine. Dober učinek zdravljenja lahko pričakujemo le ob pravilni izbiri indikacije in ustrezne vrste laserja.
