Abstrakt		The mechanism of the development of odontogenic infection is outlined and the signs and symptoms indicating the severity of the condition are listed. The basic treatment principles and additional measures used in different stages of infection are described. Guidelines for the use and proper administration of antibiotics are presented, indications for culture studies and antibiotic sensitivity testing are explained, and the most common reasons for treatment failure are discussed.
