Abstrakt     Background: This study was carried out to evaluate the clinical experiences with the dinamic interlocking nail sistem for both femur and tibia. By using an implant smaller than the diameter of medullary canal intramedullary reaming can be reduced. Fracture healing is enhanced while it allows movement along the longitudinal axis and cyclic dinamic loading at the fracture site while weight bearing. Materials: Sixtyseven consecutive patients were treated with dinamic interlocking nail sistem, 37 with femoral and 30 with tibial fracture or nonunion. The results of 61 fractures are present. Results: There were 1 nonunion, 1 malunion and 5 deep infection recorded, all of which subsequently healed. There was 98.4% union rate. The end result was excellent and good in 46 (75%) patients. Conclusion: Based on these results we believe that dinamic interlocking nail system is safe, effective and relatively easy procedure for fractures of long bone.
