Abstrakt		The aim of the present work is to find out how much the citation rate of our medical authors differs when obtained from SCI CD-ROM and when obtained from SCI Expanded. For this purpose three groups of highly cited, moderately cited and non cited (in SCI CD-ROM) authors were included in the study and the citation rates were analysed uisin both SCI versions. In average a 11% increase of citation rate in SCI Expanded as compared with SCI CD-ROM has been demonstrated. The increase considerably differs between individual autors (3% to 32%). It seems, however, that it is no dependent on the publication subject. There is no indication of difference between authors in clinical medicine and authors in basic medical disciplines.
Izvleček		Namen dela je ugotoviti, koliko se podatki o citiranosti publikacij naših medicinskih avtorjev, dobljeni iz SCI CD-ROM, razlikujejo od enakih podatkov, dobljenih iz SCI Expanded. V ta namen smo analizirali citiranost v obeh bazah za skupino zalo citiranih, skupino zmerno citiranih in skupino avtorjev, ki v SCI CD-ROM sploh nimajo citiranj. V SCI Expanded smo ugotovili v povprečju za 11% večjo citiranost kot v SCI CD-ROM. Povečanje močno varira med posameznimi avtorji (od 3 do 32%) in ne kaže, da bi bilo odvisno od tematike, ki jo avtor obravnava. Med avtorji s področja klinične medicine in avtorji s področja temeljnih medicinskih ved v tem pogledu nismo ugotovili bistevenih razlik.
