Abstrakt     Permanent accommodation of a disabled person in a nursing home is extremely painful; it demands of this persons to renounce to several benefits of common life in order to ensure himself or herself greater comfort. It may be even more painful if it is not based on his or her personal decision. For cancer patients with the exhausted treatment possibilities and with the disease advanced to the extent that does not allow personal care and independent life, the simplest solution is to accept the accommodation in a nursing home for the aged. When they do not have any relatives or friends who would be ready to assume at least a part of their nursing care or if they need a special care that cannot be given at home, than nursing home is the only solution. However, this is a solution that has been rejected in most cases by the majority of patients. Cancer patient has the right to decide what his or her life with cancer will look like. A human approach to this decision is to allow for and respect the patient's the responsibility for his or her life as to help him to make it as much true as possible. Conditions and feasibility of home care for cancer patients are evaluated by experts in this field. If there is no chance to avoid the solution that is against the patient's will, the decision has to be carefully considered together with each patient and for each patient separately.
