Abstrakt		Helicobacter pylori (HP) causes chronic gastritis not only in adults but also in children and adolescents. There are no specific symptoms of the infection with HP. Peptic ulcers in children are very rare, and stomach cancer is quite exceptional. In spite of this, the HP infection in childhood has been incrveasingly reported as an important cause of atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasa and stomach cancer in later adult life. The aim of the article is to present the speci acs of the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to infection with HP in children, with regard to the current guidelines of European and American Associations for Peadiatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
Izvleček		Helicobacter pylori (HP) povzroča pri otrocih, mladostnikih in odraslih, kronični gastritis. Specifičnih simptomov, ki bi kazali na okužbo s HP ni. Peptični ulkus je pri otrocih zelo redek, karcinom želodca pa je prava izjema. Kljub termu okužbo s HP v otroštvu vse pogosteje omenjajo kot pomemben dejavnik v nastanku atrofičnega gastritisa, intestinalne metaplazije in karcinoma želodca v odrasli dobi. Namen prispevka je prikazati specifičnost diagnostike in terapije okužbe s HP pri otrocih in mladostnikih glede na trenutna stališča Evropskega in Ameriškega združenja za pediatrično gastroenterologijo, hepatologijo in prehrano.
