Abstrakt		Ears, nose and throat diseases are very frequently encountered in the consulting room of family medicine. Catarrhal disorders of the upper respiratory tract are with 20% the most frequent cause for the first visit to a general/family physician. Malignancies of this area are with 6% the fifth most frequent malignancy in both sexes in all the age periods. They are more frequent in men, with smokers and alcoholics being at highest risk. Otorhinolaryngologic examination begins with patient's anamnesis followed by careful and systematic examination of the ears, nose, pharynx and larynx and nasal part of pharynx. The execution of examination and changes which should attract the attention are described, together with the procedures and principles of treatment executed in the consulting room of generallfamily medicine. The examination of throat and nasal part of pharynx could be more often performed also bygenerallfamily physicians.
Izvleček		Bolezni ušesa, nosu in grla so v ambulanti splošne medicine zelo pogoste. Prehladna obolenja zgornjih dihal so z 20% najpogostejši razlog za prvi obisk pri zdravniku splošne/družinske medicine. Malignomi ORL področja so s 6% peti najpogostejši malignom pri obeh spolih v vseh starostnih obdobjih. Pogostejši so pri moških, ogroženi so zlasti kadilci in alkoholiki. Pregled ORL bolnika začnemo z anamnezo, nato pazljivo in sistematično pregledamo ušesa, nos, usta, žrelo, grlo in nosni del žrela. Opisana je izvedba pregleda in spremembe, na katere moramo biti pozorni, ter postopki in načela zdravljenja, ki ga izvajamo v ambulanti splošne/družinske medicine. Pregled grla in nosnega dela žrela bi lahko večkrat opravljali tudi zdravniki splošne/družinske medicine.
