Abstrakt     A retrospective study of carbon monoxide poisoned (CO) patients admited to Poison Control Centre and Centre of Intensive Care Medicine of the University Medical Centre Ljubljana showed that an incidence of sublethal CO poisoning in Ljubljana region is at least seven times lower than in other countries. We believe that mild CO poisonings are commonly overlooked and misdiagnosed. In the future we should consider carbon monoxide poisoning more often in patients with flu-like symptoms, headache, dizziness, confusion and worsening of their pre-existing diseases particulary during the heating months and when several family members are affected. Children often present with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. We still have to improve treatment of CO-poisoned patients.
