Abstrakt     According to available date from the Reviews of Slovenian healthcare centre by IVZRS at least 182 patients were treated due to carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning between 1988 and 1998. in the same period there were also 537 deaths due to CO poisoning; including treated and: non-treated patients. These numbers may underestimate the real problem. There are fare more patients miss-diagnosed (virosis, gastritis) especially in case of mildly poisoning wit CO. In the first case we presented a mild poisoning with CO. A non-specific signs of 48 year-old woman were to attributed first to virosis and then to psihologic causes. After detailed anamnesis and determination of carboxihemoglobin level (12 %) the diagnose of CO poisoning was set up. She was successfully treated with 100 % provided by OHIO mask. In the second case we presented a 19 year-old-man who developed signs of sever CO poisoning: unconscious, sinus tachycardia. Carboxiherioglobin level was 28 %. Due to aspiration he developed ARDS. He was treated by hyperbaric oxygenation. However, disturbance of cognitive function persisted on discharge. Our criteria for hyperbaric oxygenation are presented in the article.
