Abstrakt		Objectives: In evaluating urethral strictures, dynamic radiographic urethrography (RUG) is a method of choice, but, after 1988 (Mc Anninch) sonographic urethrography (SUG) is also recommended. SUG adds information about the depth and density of spongiofibrosis. In previous studies where RUG and SUG were compared with surgery, RUG length underestimation was found and was blamed for inappropriate treatment selection and recurrences. Patients, methods: Fifty-one patients with suspected urethral strictures underwent dynamic RUG and SUG with measurements and comparison of strictures lengths, lumen reduction and periurethral changes. The results were compared with urethroscopy and surgical treatment decision. The aims of the study were: 1. to evaluate urethral strictures by SUG to gain all important information for treatment selection, 2. to compare the results with previously reported RUG length underestimation, from our opinion, a possible interpretational mistake, 3. possibility of changing diagnostic algorithm.
