Abstrakt     In the Department of pathomorphology and cytology of the Celje General Hospital, autopsies were carried out on 52 people who died in road accidents in 1997, on 31 in 1988, and on 41 in 1999. An analysis of the immediate causes of death of the people injuries in road accidents in the Celje area in 1997 - 1999 showed that the most common cause of death was injury to the injury to the head and neck. The second most common cause was damage to the aorta, followed by damage to the thorax and by tears to the heart. The next most common cause of death was the sudden natural death of a person involved in road traffic.
