| Abstrakt | Asbestos has been in widespread use for the production of numerous products for more than a century. The majority of asbestos in Slovenia was used in the production of asbestos-cement products by Salonit Anhovo factory. Asbestos fibres, after they have been inhaled, cause fibrotic and malignant health effects. Occupational diseases that can result from occupational asbestos exposure are asbestosis, pleural changes, cancer of the respiratory tract and malignant mesothelioma of the pleura and peritoneum. The biological effects of asbestos, the characteristics of occupational diseases and the legislation on recognizing occupational diseases are presented. Available data about occupational diseases in Slovenia in the past and data on recognized occupational diseases after' a new legislation has come to power in 1998, are presented as well. | |
| Izvleček | Azbest je v uporabi za proizvodnjo številnih izdelkov že več kot stoletje. V Sloveniji je bila največji porabnik azbesta tovarna azbestnocementnih izdelkov Salonit Anhovo. Azbestna vlakna delujejo po vstopu v človeški organizem fibrogeno in rakotvorno. Izpostavljenost azbestnim vlaknom pri delu lahko povzroča poklicne bolezni - azbestozo, plevralne spremembe, pljučnega raka in maligni mezoteliom plevre in peritoneja. Prikazani so biološki učinki azbesta, značilnosti posameznih poklicnih bolezni, pravne osnove za verifikacijo poklicnih bolezni ter razpoložljivi podatki o poklicnih boleznih v Sloveniji v preteklem obdobju in podatki po uveljavitvi Pravilnika o določitvi poklicnih bolezni zaradi izpostav jenosti azbestu po letu 1998. | |
