Abstrakt		Communicable diseases surveillance and control based on the legislation and well co-ordinated action among several institutions on the local, regional, national and international level is very important and is one of the most developed parts of the national program. Laboratory diagnostics is not important only for clinical diagnostics and therapy but also for communicable diseases and outbreak control. In the notification system, every clinician and laboratory is obliged to report clinical and microbial findings concerning notifiable infectious diseases. As electronic notification increases, the delay between sampling and recording of findings in the Infectious Diseases Register is becoming increasingly shorter. A proper and on time report from the clinician and microbial diagnostics is very important for epidemiologists to implement appropriate general and specific control measures.
