Abstrakt     To decrease the very preterm delivery rate (VPTD), early identification of women at risk is of prime importance. Data from the National Perinatal Information System of Slovenia together with data from the EUROPOP study were used for construction of a model for predicting the risk of preterm delivery. Two-phase model is used first before pregnancy or at the first visit in pregnancy and is subsequently updated according to the factors that apper in pregnancy. Final result is odds ratio for preterm delivery against the woman without any possible complication-either before pregnancy or in pregnancy. To decrease the VPTD rate, risk factors must then be removed or reduced-only prediction of risk does not help.
