Abstrakt     Thermal lens spectrometry (TLS) is one of the most sensitive techniques for determination of non-fluorescing substances. It was used for determination of natural pigments carotenoids in fruit juices and their concentrates in combination with non-aqueous reveres phase chromatography. Three different chromatographic systems were used. The optimal mobile phase, separation and extraction conditions were determined with objective of shortening the time of analysis, reduce the amount of used chemicals and minimize the possibility of carotenoid isomerisation and oxidation. The achieved limits of detection represent significant improvements compared to spectrophotometric detection (factor 10 to 100). Presented results demonstrated the suitability of the technique for determination of carotenoids patterns, because it can serve as a fingerprint of selected sample, so HPLC-TLS method can be used to identify the origin, quality and authenticy of various juices.
