Abstrakt		The paper reviews twenty years of experiences with regional analgesia and anaesthesia at the Department of obstetrics and gynecology, University medical centre Ljubljana. Primarity, it is an expression of gartitude to all pioneers of regional techniques in obstetrical analgesia and the same time it is an appeal to all those responsible for health care system to assure better condition (financial resources for extra anaesthesia staff) that will make the provision of twenty-four hour obstetric pain-relief service possible.
