Abstrakt | Workers in rubber industry have higher risk for development of COPD. They are exposed to different air-pollutants for example curing fumes and dust (carbon black, talc, hardeners, catalizers, softeners and antioxidants). We have measured lung function in the tyre production plant: at 161 workers in mixing and preparation area (dust exposure, carbon black), at 85 workers in curing area (curing fumes exposures) and at 104 workers in tyre building area. The last group was supposed as control group without any air-pollutant exposition. We have performed lung function measurements at the beginning of their employment and two years continuously before work in years 1994-2000. We measured the forced vital capacity (FVC), the one second forced expiratory volume (FEVI), flow rates at 25%, 50% and 75% of the FVC (FEF25, FEF50, FEF75). Lung function was measured at Monday morning before and after work and Friday morning before and after work at the work place. We compared cross-week and cross-shift changes in FEVI and FVC. Preliminary results: We found the reduction of FEVI from employment further on (p<0,01) and the reduction of FVC value during all observed years. We could not confirm cross-week reduction of FEVl except for the first group. We found increase in FEVl after work (cross-shift) at the workers in curing area - 2nd Group (p<0,05) and significant fall in the FVC values from Monday morning till Friday after work (cross-week) at the dust exposed and curing fumes exposed workers 1st and 2nd Group (p<0,001). We could not find this in the unexposed group - 3rd Group. The results will be further analysed. | |
Izvleček | Delavci v gumarstvu so po mnenju nekaterih avtorjev bolj ogroženi za nastanek obstruktivnega kroničnega bronhitisa. Izpostavljeni so različnim ,onesnaženjem zraka v proizvodnji, kot so vulkanizacijski plini, pare, prah (saje, smukec, pospeševalci, mehčala, antioksidanti). Spremljali smo pljučno funkcijo delavcev v gumarski industriji. Opazovali smo delavce na vulkanizaciji, v mešalnici kontrolo predstavljajo delavci, zaposleni na konfekciji avtomobilskih plaščev, ki niso izpostavljeni zračnim onesnaženjem. Opravili smo meritve pljučne funkcije s spirometrom pred nastopom dela in v letih od 1994 do 2000. Med zaposlenimi delavci smo opravili dve zaporedni meritvi, v dveh letih zapored (med njima je praviloma leto dni razlike). Poleg meritev v ambulanti smo opravili tudi meritve spirometrije s prenosnim spirometrom na delovnem mestu - prvi delovni dan pred in po delu, peti delovni dan pred in po delu. Primerjali smo rezultate meritev pljučne funkcije glede na ekspozicijo onesnaženju (vulkanizacija, mešalnica, konfekcija), delovno dobo, kajenje, delovno izmeno. V rezultatih ugotavljamo upad FVC, FEVI v letih po ekspoziciji v primerjavi z vrednostmi ob nastopu dela. Ugotavljamo blago zmanjšanje FEVI v 1. skupini znotraj delovnega tedna, ne pa tudi v ostalih skupinah. Ugotavljamo porast FEVI po delu v primerjavi z vrednostmi pred delom v II. skupini (p < 0,05). Izmerili smo signifikantni padec FVC vrednosti od začetka do konca delovnega tedna pri delavcih s prašnim onesnaženjem (I. skupina) in na vulkanizaciji (II. skupina). (p < 0,001). Tega nismo zabeležili pri kontrolni skupini. | |
