Abstrakt     Slovenia have over 1270 still waters which vary widely because of the geographical diversity and origins. The first problem of lake management in Slovenia is shortage of reliable data, the second is lack of legislative basis and administrative policy. Lake and reservoir management strategy is proposed. It is based on multiple use which consider natural balance o ecosystems. It can only be achieved by working out expert management programmes with integrated scientific knowledge.
