Abstrakt		The presenting symptoms of migraine in childhood and adolescents tend to differ from those in adults, making it difficult to obtain high sensitivity rates using the present standard International Headache Society criteria. The migraines can vary dramatically in terms of character and severity from brief self-limited headaches to prolonged events with complex neurologic symptoms. The diagnosis remains predominately based on the patient's history of symptoms and is supported by a positive family history. Diagnostic tests are of value predominately to exclude non-migrainous disorders that may present with similar symptoms.
Izvleček		Simptomi migrene v otroštvu in adolescenci se lahko razlikujejo od simptomov pri odraslih. Merila Mednarodne zveze za glavobol v otroškem obdobju ne ustrezajo povsem. Pogosta sta krajše trajanje glavobola in obojestranska bolečina. Migrenske variante so daljši napadi, ki so jim pridruženi tudi nevrološki zapleti. Diagnozo postavimo ob ustreznem opisu bolnikovih težav, podpira jo pa prisotnost bolezni v družini. Diagnostične preiskave so pomembne le za izključitev drugih možnih vzrokov glavobola, ki lahko posnemajo migrenski glavobol.
