Abstrakt     In children and adolescents, headaches are among the most frequent symptoms requiring attention, definition and treatment. One of the most frequent headaches in adolescence is the tension type of headache, classified among primary headaches like the migraine. It is accompanied by a series of triggering factors which are often concealed. It may last from a few hours up to several days, often recurring on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. For a child, such headaches are exhausting, they destroy the selfimage, are a cause of concern for the family and school, and they also represent a public health service problem. The diagnostic and therapeutic treatment of the child and adolescent with tension headache generally requires a broad team treating the child and its family as well as the cooperation of a psychologist, a social worker, an educator and the school.
Otroke in mladostnike glavobol izčrpava, ruši jim samopodobo, skrbi družino, moti šolsko delo in je problem za zdravstveno službo. Diagnostična in terapevtska obravnava otroka in mladostnika z glavobolom tenzijskega tipa zahteva široko timsko obravnavo otroka in družine, zaželeno je sodelovanje psihologa, socialnega delavca, pedagoga, pa tudi šole.
