Abstrakt     The aim of this study was to find out peroperative damages to the endothelium of vein autograft which occur in the process of preparation and arrangement for the future coronary by-pass taht was to be done by the recommended method. The experiments were made upon dogs. In the control group veins were prepared in standard way presented with short incisions between which "skin bridges" were left. In the experimental group veins were prepared by using the longest possible incision. "Skin bridges" were not preserved. The preparation was done "in situ" because the veins were nor temoved from their base, thus enabling self-circulation during the whole time. In case of determining the permeability of the venous wall filling with animal blood was used. Scanning electrone microscope analusis was taken, showing greater damage to the endothelium of the venous autograft prepared in the standard way that to the venous autograft prepared by our recommended method. Classical venous dissection results in the larger damages of the affluences of the collateral veins and the vasa vasorum. The suggestes surgical method significantly lessens the possibility of preoperative damage to the endothelium of the forthcoming "by-pass" and could have a clinical application.
