Abstrakt | The goal of the thesis has been an assumption that articles, written by researchers from the Institute of Oncology, and their citations in the journal Radiology and Oncology (R&O) differ frome those, which are published in journals covered by the Science Citation Index (SCI) in: number of authors per article; number of citations per article; age of publications cited; citation of journals and other publications; and journals citation frequency. The study is based on analysis of the journal R&O in the period of 1992 - 2000 and on a comparative analysis of the citations used by the researchers of the Institute of Oncology (Onkološki in*titut - OI) in the articles published in the period of 1998 - 2000 in the scientific journal R&O and those published by the same researchers in the same time frame in the scientific journals covered by the SCI. The following methods were applied: 1) analysis of the articles from R&O and definiton of the sample of publihing researchers from OI to be used in the study; 2) analysis of their articles that were published in the journals covered by SCI; and 3) comparative analysis of citations used by the sampled authors in articles published in R&O and in SCI-covered journals. The study proved that the citations used by the sampled authors in R&0 do not differ significantly from the citations used in SCI-covered journals and it can therefore be construed that the quality of articles is equal regardless of the journal or journals they are published in. | |
