Abstrakt | The data set on hop volatiles currently used on the Institute of Hop Research and Brewing Žalec results from analysing essential oils obtained by steam distillation, a standard and well defined routine procedure. During 1999 and 2000 volatiles of some hop samples were sampled also by the much handier and much quicker solid-phase microextraction (SPME) method. As expected, gas chromatography of these samples obtained by different methods revealed that chromatograms as a rule differ in individual peaks. On the contrary, when these (SPME obtained) data were used in the MIN-MAX model, we could prove that in spite of differences regarding relative contents of individual components, the model is robust enough for SPME obtained data to be used directly in routine identification of hop cultivars and determination of their aroma properties. | |
Izvleček | Podatkovno bazo o hlapnih sestavinah hmelja, ki jo trenutno uporabljamo na Inštitutu za hmeljarstvo in pivovarstvo Žalec, smo pridobili z dobro preskušeno in rutinsko metodo destilacije z vodno paro. V letih 1999 in 2000 smo hlapne sestavine nekaterih vzorcev hmelja vzorčili tudi z bolj priročno in hitrejšo metodo mikroekstrakcije na igli (solid-phase microextraction - SPME). Plinska kromatografija teh na različne načine pridobljenih vzorcev je po pričakovanju pokazala, da se kromatogrami v posameznih vrhovih praviloma razlikujejo glede na način vzorčenja. Ko pa smo rezultate vstavili v MIN-MAX model, smo - ne glede na razlike v izmerjeni vsebnosti nekaterih sestavin -ugotovili, da je model dovolj robusten, da lahko s SPME pridobljene podatke direktno uporabljamo pri rutinski identifikaciji hmeljnih kultivarjev in pri določevanju njihovih aromatskih lastnosti. | |
