Abstrakt		The aim of this article is to present the dental treatment under general anaesthesia for handicapped children on Dental Clinic in Ljubljana. In Ljubljana's Dental Clinic dental treatment for moderately and severely handicapped patients has been organised since 1967. In spite of old equipment, witch frequently broke down, we continued with dental treatment under general anaesthesia. Finally, in June 1999, the surgery room at Dental Clinic, where dental treatment under general anaesthesia is taking place, was completely renovated. When a dentist cannot offer proper dental treatment to handicapped patients due to their illness, dental treatment under general anaesthesia is taken into consideration. Dental treatment is comprehensive and there is usually no need for additionai dental treatment under general anaesthesia. Protocol for dental treatment under general anaesthesia, established by anaesthesiologists, has proved to be of high quality and very safe for patients, in spite of long duration of dental treatment and different systemic diseases those patients usually have.
