Abstrakt     When a cell is exposed to external electrical field the induced transmembrane potential triggers the formation of structural changes in the membrane which is known as electroporation. For high enough electric field this leads to the increased membrane conductivity and to a change of the effective conductivity of a cell suspension. We analyzed the effective conductivity of a suspension of permeabilized cells theoretically and experimentally. Theoretically we analyzed changes in effective conductivity for different parameters: cells volume fraction, membrane conductivity, medium conductivity, critical transmembrane potential and cell orientation. Measurements of the current and voltage were performed during electroporation pulses (EP). The main objective of these measurements is to measure possible changes of the effective conductivity due to the changes in the membrane conductivity.
