Abstrakt		The role of early endoscopic cholangiopancreatography (ERCPJ and papillotomy (EPTJ in the treatment of patients who have acute biliary pancreatitis is still uncertain. All agree that it is beneficial in patients with biliary obstruction or cholangitis or sepsis, it is also indicated if a clinical course of the patient is not improved within 36 - 48 hours of the initiation of standard medical therapy. We suggest also that ERCP and EPT should be performed during the first 24 hours of the disease in every case of acute biliary pancreatitis, if it is technical possible.
