Abstrakt | DNA microarray technology enables analysis of thousands of genes in parallel, getting towards genome scale expression measurement. Till now it has been possible to follow only a few genes at a time, which contributed significantly to the understanding of development and progress of different diseases. Consequently, the DNA microarray technology that enables us to follow the gene expression profile of a tissue has opened a way for development of new tools in diagnostics and prognosis of the disease, in addition to application of the new technology in search for new drugs. | |
Izvleček | Tehnologija genskih mikromrež omogoča hkratno analizo izražanja tisoč genov in se s tem bliža spremljanju izražanja genov na nivoju celega genoma. Do razvoja te tehnike je bilo možno spremljati izražanje le nekaj že poznanih genov hkrati, kar je pripomoglo k razumevanju razvoja in poteka različnih boleznih. Posledično je uporaba tehnologije genskih mrež, s katerimi spremljamo cel vzorec izražanja genov v nekem tkivu, odprla pot razvoju novih orodij v diagnostiki in prognostiki najrazličnejših bolezni, na različne načine pa se uporablja tudi pri iskanju novih zdravil. | |
