Abstrakt		Driving proved to be under the influence of drugs or psychoactive medical products is punishable by a high penalty fine, penalty points and also withdrawal of driving licence. In the area of drugs and psychoactive medical products the percentage of recidivists is higher than with alcohol. A survey for the year 1999 included 111 cases of people involved in road traffic in whom the talcing of methadone was proved. Only 70 drivers had a valid driving licence, and of these, 54 had already been punished for a traffic offence; 37 had been punished for driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Among the 41 drivers who did not have a valid driving licence at the time of verification, 36 had already been involved iu road accidents, and 39 had criminal records for driving under the influence of drugs or drugs and alcohol.
