Abstrakt | Kinesiological gait analysis of the effects of peroneal funetional electrical stimulation (FES) revealed immediate (orthotic) and long-term (therapeutic) improvements in the kinematic and kinetic parameters of gait, more pronounced in hemiplegic than in diplegic children. A decrease of an excessive knee flexion in stance can be also directly induced by peroneal FES. Botulinum toxin therapy of spastic plantar flexors of the foot may facilitate the effect of peroneal FES in hemiplegic children. | |
