Abstrakt		From a perspective of social medicine, alternative medicine is a phenomenon which has to be monitored closely and analyzed. There is no such monitoring in Slovenia, but judging on public opinion polls and epidemiological researches one can make assumptions how widespread this phenomenon is. In this article author tries to explain doctor's. people's and state's attitude towards it. He also tries to explain the necessity for linking social and alternative medicine. It's desirable that people use such methods of healing which benefit to health and enhance quality of life.
