Abstrakt		A denial of death is characteristic for western culture. Because of this hospices were founded in sixties, where appropriate care was offered to the dying patients and their relatives. Palliative nursing care was developed and special emphasis was given on relationship between patient and nurse. ln addition to nursing care nurses can use different methods of complementary therapies. Some advantages and disadvantages are presented by putting complementary therapies in nursing care.
