Abstrakt     In this paper I consider the nature and meaning of experiential learning among a group of doctors, working in innercity contexts, and using autobiographical methods. Medicine remains a very' male' profession, in which emphasis is given to the application of "objective"; scientific knowledge to patient's problems. The paper explores particular doctors' struggles to be effective and reflective practitioners in a medical world. Especially, where experiential learning in relation to knowledge about self, the emotions and the cultural dimensions of health, can be professionally derided. Still,'success'may depend on the integration of medical and experiential insight.
Izvleček     V tem članku preučujem naravo in pomen izkustvenega učenja v skupini mestnih zdravnikov ob uporabi autobiografskih metod. Medicina ostaja zelo "moški" poklic, v katerem se poudarek daje uporabi objektivnega, znanstveno osnovanega znanja pri obdelavi pacientovih problemov. Članek raziskuje posebne težave zdravnikov pri njihovi težnji, da bi bili učinkoviti in reflektivni v svetu medicine, kjer je izkustveno učenje, še posebej v odnosu do znanja o samemu sebi, emocijah in kulturnih dimenzijah zdravja, profesionalno zasmehovano. In to kljub temu, da je "uspeh" lahko odvisen od povezovanja medicinskega znanja z izkustvenim.
