Abstrakt		In this article two themes are introduced that can be interconnected in clinical practice - psychosocial distress of the woman with a chronic physical disease and especially her position during pregnancy and afterwards, including the reestablishment of her relationship to her own female sex role and motherhood. Through the presented clinical case we have tried to additionally highlight the psychological processes, which can be caused by disease and the consequent changed quality of life, as well as views held in the physical, personal and relationship areas that are carried into pregnancy and afterwards. Lastly, the crisis situation, in which a woman can easily find herself during pregnancy or afterwards is introduced, together with the basic principles of psychological intervention during this period.
