Abstrakt		A web based dynamic image gallery was initiated in 1999 and since 2000 increasingly supplemented with multilingual components. It has been reorganised to serve as an organisational platform to support the European Cervical Cancer Screening Network which is coordinated at the Cytological Institute of the Bavarian Cancer Society in Munich. The basic concept is to create a data base structure to allow for translation into different languages. While starting as a local German activity the number of image authors has increased and remote web based translation to English, French, Italian and Spanish has been performed. Meanwhile a platform for web based training in cytology was added and used at a local level. The aim of present and future developments is to speed up international information dissemination, promote quality assurance in cancer screening and improve continuing education in cytology.
