Abstrakt     This master thesis is intended to provide a broad review of existing evidence and knowledge regarding the vibration influence on human body. The thesis consists the knowledge of microcirculation physiology, aetiology of the vibration syndrome, suggestions for clinical assessment, classification of disease severity, strategies for the vibration effects prediction and treatment. Long-time occupational exposure to vibrating instruments is associated with an increased risk of developing peripheral vascular and neurologic disorders. Vibration syndrome is a disease with three components (a) circulatory disturbances (vasospasm with finger blanching - the classical white finger), (b) autonomic dysfunction (disbalance between sympaticus and parasympatikus), sensory and motor nerve damage (tingling, numbness, loss of finger co-ordination and hand dexrerity) and (c) musculo-skeletal disorders, muscle, bone and joint changes. The results are well known but the pathogenesis remains an enigma. The two main theories of the cause of digital artery vasospasm are increased activity of the sympathetic nervous system and local fault in the digital vasculature. It is consider that reological changes of blood can also co-operate. The epidemiologic evidence of the reversibility of vibration syndrome in the early stages after cessation from vibration exposure suggests that the vibration syndrome may be a transitory disorder.
