Abstrakt     The aim of present study is to find out whether resuscitation outcome in the area of Public Health Centre (PHC) Kranj is comparable with resuscitation outcome of other prehospital Emergency medicine services. Study analyses the influence of different factors (characteristics of patient, intervention and procedures carried out during resuscitation ) on retum of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) and hospital discharge. It also estimates the neurological outcome and overall physical pertormance of patients survived. Statistical methods used in this study are t-test, chi square and logistic regression. Present study is a retrospective analysis of 210 patients with cardiac arrest who were resuscitated in area of PHC Kranj from 01.01 1996 to 31.12.2001. 74,8% of patients were men. Mean age was 60,6 years. The aetiology of cardiac arrest was cardiac in 157 patients (74,8%) and non - cardiac in 53 patients (25,2%). At the end of pre-hospital resuscitation 43,9% of patients with cardiac arrest of cardiac aetiology and 35,8% of patient with non-cardiac aetiology achieved ROSC. 12,7% of patients with cardiac arrest of cardiac aetiology and 7,5% of patients with non-cardiac arrest were discharged from hospital. 70,8% of patients (cardiac aetiology of cardiac arrest) discharged from hospital had overall pertormance categories (OPC)1 or 2 and 66,7% of patients had cerebral performance categories (CPC)1 or 2. Present study showed that resuscitation outcome in the area of Public Health Centre Kranj is comparable with other pre-hospital Emergency medicine services.
