Abstrakt		This paper presents a new multimedia system ARTI for teaching and training of correct pronunciation for hearing and speech handicapped children. The system-consists of database editor and language independent system intended for training of correct articulation of consonants and vowels. The evaluation of the system was carried out at the Centre for hearing and speech in Maribor. Different groups of children with different degree of hearing loss and different speech disabilities participated in the test. The results of the evaluation showed faster rehabilitation for children that used the ARTI system. This was true especially for children with hearing disabilities as the visual communication channel that is used by ARTI system could in greater extend compensate the missing auditory feedback.
