Abstrakt		Mortality due to breast cancer, the most prevalent cancer disease in females, can be reduced by well-organized screening, diagnostic centers and a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. The Slovene Senologic Society, a voluntary, professional, nonpolitical association, unites doctors from various branches of medicine, all dealing with the problem of discovering, diagnosing and treating breast cancer. The key role of the society is to take part in organizing education in the field of senology, provide the cooperation of various medical specialties and participate in organizing a complete treatment approach for breast cancer patients in Slovenia.
