Abstrakt | Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) are among the most frequently prescribed drugs. Their main restrictive factors are side effects in the digestive tract. With regard to effect and safety, several types of NSAID are known. Two types of cyclooxygenase are found in the organism, the constitutive COX-1 and the cyclooxygenase involved in inflammation, COX-2. With the use of COX-2 selective NSAID, their safe use has increased significantly. NSAIDs are used above all in inflammatory diseases. The most common side effects are seen in the digestive tract, liver, kidney, central nervous system and the hematopoietic system. Allergies are often observed. Particularly due to the broad use and numerous side effects of NSAID, the indications for their use should be carefully examined in each individual patient. | |
