Abstrakt | Nursing homes are complex institutions because. they are act as a subs.titute for all human needs. Inmates of nursing homes are released from any self-care responsability, which means decomposition of self-identity. Occupational therapy with its basic premise of the occupational needs of the client encourages self-dependence and coping with activities. With the assistance of the occupational therapist client will be able to start adaptation, which leads to a more promising long-term quality of life in the nursing home. A qualitative-quantitative study was performed to gain insight into important life domains, adaptive strategies, everyday life of nursing home residents, the course of an ordinary day in institutionalized care, and residents' subjective perception of the quality of life in the nursing home. Another goal is to learn more on the activities they engage in or would wish to practice. | |
