Abstrakt		ZUIM Kamnik is an institution for training and teaching children and adolescents with special needs who follow a regular elementary or secondary school program. In the recent years the number of children with combined disorders has been on the increase. Beside motor handicap, very commonly observed disorders are those of perception, cognition, social and emotional components, speech, and communication. This comprehensive handicap exerts an importnt influcnce upon the quality of child's or adolecent's life. Such an individual needs intensive team rehabilitation with technical equipment and adjustments. The article deals with the importance of being acquainted with the causes and characteristics of motor handicap and other associated disorders in children, and the technical equipment and aid that children use for communication and occupation.
