Abstrakt     Anaphylaxis is a severe life-threatening systemic reaction resulting from the sudden release of mast cell-derived mediators into the circulation. The most common causes of anaphylaxis include drugs, insect venoms and foods. Early recognition by patient or physician is imperative to appropriate management. Adrenalin and intravenous fluids remain the cornerstones of treatment of anaphylaxis and usually produce a response in more than 90% of patients. Follow-up with an allergist is essential to determine the cause and to give advice on avoidance to prevent further attacks.
