Abstrakt		Acute chest pain is a common problem in everyday clinical practice. A detailed history and a thorough clinical examination often provide the clues to understanding the cause of the disease. Diagnostic tests should be individualized and kept to a minimum, according to their cost-effectiveness. Acute coronary syndrome, aortic dissection and pulmonary embolisms are disorders with the worst prognosis and should therefore not be missed. A correct decision on which hospital unit the patient should be admitted to, along with aggressive treatment, are often decisive factors for patients with acute chest pain.
Izvleček		Nenadna prsna bolečina je pogost klinični problem v vsakdanji praksi. Natančna anamneza in fizikalni pregled pogosto pojasnita povzročitelja. V izbiri preiskav skušamo vsakemu bolniku prilagoditi minimalno številno testov z najboljšimi diagnostičnimi lastnostmi. Najslabšo napoved imajo akutni koronarni sindrom, aortna disekcija in pljučni embolizmi, zato teh stanj ne smemo spregledati. Pravilna izbira bolnišnične enote in agresivno zdravljenje so pogosto odločilni.
