Abstrakt     In one hundred patients, included in in vitro fertilization -embryo transfer programme, ovulation was stimulated by gonadotropin releasing hormone analognes and human menopausal gonadotropin. The analysis of previous human menopausal gonadotropin stimulated cycles reveals that 51 patients in 80 cycles embryo transfer was not performed, while with gonadotropin releasing hormones analogues stimulation in the same group embryo was not performed in 16 patients. Mean estradiol concentrations at the time of human chorionic gonadotropin administration were the same per both types of stimulation (3.70+-2.04 and 3.60+-2.05 nmol/l) as was also the average number of oocytes retrived (3.80+-2.96 and 4.50+-2.70 nmol/l) and embryos transferred (2.39+-1.78 and 2.80+-1.56). Out of 49 patients treated with human menopausal gonadotropin pregnancy resulted in 4 (8.1 per cent ) and terminated as spontaneous abortion in the firs trimester. In gonadotropin releasing hormonea analogues stimulated cycles there were 17 pregnancies (20.3 per cent ) terminated as delivery of 6 children in 4 patients, there were 2 spontaneous abortion, one ectopic preganancy and there are 10 ongoing pregnancies in the third trimester. It cuold be concluded that gonadotropin releasing hormones analogue treatment improves the results of the in vitro fertilization programme particulary in the patients in whom purious human chorionic gonadotropin stimulated cycles did not result in embryo transfer.
