Abstract | Laparoscopy is surgical instrumental inspection of the peritoneal cavity, employed either for diagnosis or as a minimal invasive treatment procedure. In experienced hands it is relatively safe and brief procedure. Severe complications are rare. Combined intravenous anesthesia involves the use of several agents given in low doses with the aim of avoiding adverse high dose - related effects ot these agents. Narcotics, analgesics, and relaxats are used. Intravenous and inhalational agents are employed to induce and maintain sleep during the operation while analgesics are given to prevent the patient from experiencing pain. The use of muscle relaxants is prerequlslte for smooth operation and controlled ventilation Today, combined intravenous anaestesia is the most commonly used form of intravenous anaesthesia, and at the same time, the most widely employed form of general anaesthesia. We select the agents which we consider to best meet the patient s safety and comfort requirements during the operation, and provide best maintenance of anaethesia and recovery supervision. In order to further in crease the safety rate of combined intravenous anaestesia we duly introduce new intravenous agents coming onto the market. | |
