Abstract		The paper tries to explain the process of mourning and the stages in which it usually develops (shock, protest, desorganization, reorganization). The authors discuss the details of the bereavement and the turmoil of emotions after the suicide of a relative. They try to answer the question, what is the role of a general parctitioner in recognize, evaluating and reacting at the patient who survived the death (suicide) of somebody close to him.
