Abstract		iPath is a Web- and e-Mail-based telepathology system which was developed at the Deparment of Pathology of the University of Basel. The system is used in telemicroscopy for frozen section diagnosis in Switzerland as well as for teleconsultations worldwide in Europe, United States of America, Africa and Asia. iPath is released as free software under an open source license and works platform independently.
