Abstract		In the last ten years laparoscopic cholecystectomy has become a standard surgical procedure for the treatment of simptomatic gallstones. It has almost entirely replaced classical operations and has many advantages. For a safe procedure of laparoscopic cholecystectomy the surgeon has to be very well educated in anatomy of this region and all its variations. In ourpaper we present the indications and exact technique of laparoscopic cholecystectomy. We also discuss the postoperative care of patients and all possible complications. We can conclude that laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a safe procedure.
