Abstract     The survey consists of the theoretical and the empirical part and it is preoccupied with the risk factors of health and socialization o the population of the deaf and hard of hearing adolescents. The survey was carried out with adolescents who visit the Institution for the Deaf and hard of Hearing in Ljubljana and those who are integrated o regular secondary schools m Slovenia. The institution for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Lljubljana, is the only 'educational institution in Slovenia which enable vocational education for the deaf and hard of hearing adolescents. In the Slovene research from 1997 (dr. Tomori was the mentor) the questionnaire for the Slovene adolescents was used. And this questionnaire discovered the risk factors for health and socialization for them. With this survey we would like to find out which are the basic risk factors for health and socialisation for the deaf and hard of hearing adolescents. Soce there has never been this kind of research on the Slovene deaf population, the Slovene research for the hearing adolescents from 1997 will help us compare our results. We will try to identify which are the most risky groups of the deaf population and to find the danger deriving from (family, unsuitable cognitive and behaviour styles, personal characteristics, unsuitable standpoints, ...). The research in risk factors includes eight areas; general data about the individual testees, data about the school and family field, data related to adolescents life (sexuality, alcohol, drugs, suicide, eating disorders), data related to the Zung scale of depression and the Rosenberg scale of self-esteem. The results of the survey are showing some safety factors, and encourage the actmties of the responsible institutions to spread the awereness of protection. The data of the empirical work is analysed by the programme package for the, statistical analyses SPSS. The suitable statistical methods were used. (Abstract truncated at 2000 characters)
