Abstract		Recent advances in cardiac pacing have been mostly technologic with improvement in longevity of power sources, miniaturization of electronic circuits with overall improvement in the design, widespread use of hermetic encapsulation, noninvasive programmability, and the development of reliable leads for pacing end deffibrilation. Cardiac pacing has revolutionized the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, strap 1 and the number of patients with implanted electronic devices continues to increase probably because of better understanding and diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias and greater reliability of pacing systems. In the article we are describing only newer indications for cardiac electrostimulations: atrial and ventricular tachycardias and fibrillations, refractory congestive heart failure and cardiac transplantations.
